Canadian Delivery Service Expands into Penticton and Summerland

Since the advent of COVID-19, Okanagan restaurants have struggled to put food on the plates for their loyal customers.

As it became clear that this shift in lifestyle was going to be with us for a while, those local owners had to pivot and adapt to survive. This meant putting their trust in the tyrants of the third party delivery industry. As the months dragged on, more and more residents of the Okanagan ordered food online and through delivery apps. Third party delivery companies are now woven into the fabric of our culture, and restaurants need their consumers to start visiting their websites directly to place orders.

Finally, a champion for the locals has emerged.

NINJAnow is a local delivery company that allows restaurants to keep their own money where it belongs: In house. And they have arrived in Penticton and Summerland.

Starting in the Okanagan Valley, NINJAnow launched in Vernon, Kelowna, West Kelowna, and Peachland in order to build its brand and its business platform. Cheryl Kerik, owner and founder of NINJAnow, says “we are Okanagan Valley grown. Right here in Peachland. All of our beta testing was built on the values of the local communities of the valley.”

Now that the brand is alive and thriving in the Central Okanagan, NINJAnow is excited to bring their smiling drivers down south to serve the communities of the South Okanagan.

NINJAnow boasts affordability to the establishments with which they work. They have a pay-as-you-go service, coupled with a low flat rate that brings their percentage to well under 10%. This means the restaurant is able to keep the bulk of their sales. They are excited to work with the local businesses throughout the Okanagan in such a way that they can keep building their brand.

NINJAnow’s technical team builds an online e-commerce presence for their clients, including a button that allows people to order directly from their website. A mobile app and NINJAnow’s own site complete the triangle of ordering possibilities. When asked what really sets them apart from the international brands of the delivery industry, Kerik says “we share our data with our customer and help them grow their brands. Not some app’s brand. . . We have a make-it-right culture. We want to make every order right; we have someone who monitors every single order.”

The South Okanagan is a different place from the North and NINJAnow comes to connect them, but also to acknowledge the local differences in the communities. With a 25-kilometer delivery radius, NINJAnow is able to reach the outlying communities. Before now, those outside of the short distance offered by the other apps didn’t receive service. Kerik relayed her thoughts, “We are there to fill that need. Vernon to Penticton. All one family.”

That said, why not ask an expert? The experts in this case are the restaurant owners throughout the Okanagan.

DunnEnzies Pizza has been working with NINJAnow since August of 2020 and has their own thoughts. When asked if they would recommend their service to another restaurant, they replied with an enthusiastic “Absolutely! NINJAnow has helped increase our revenue, their guest service is always top notch and the team members they employ are all kind and helpful. Choosing a local business that supports our community and is run efficiently with strong communication and customer service is a no brainer for us!”

DunnEnzies Pizza has four locations on board and says, “it is very easy for our busy team to understand, which is very important to us, especially over the high-volume revenue periods.”

In a previous interview with iNFOnews, the owner of DunnEnzies even pleaded with the people of the Okanagan: “Please stop using companies like Skip the Dishes and DoorDash... They are killing small business all for convenience.”

Now, this local gem is an exclusive client of NINJAnow. There you have it – your local answer to delivery solutions has arrived.

NINJAnow is now delivering from Vernon to Penticton, connecting the valley in a very local way. With low fees to the restaurants, a professional fleet of drivers, and a 25 km delivery radius, they are here to give restaurants their brands – and their money – back. As a local part of our communities, they work with both the Kelowna and West Kelowna junior hockey clubs, as well as engaging their followers with fun and exciting posts all over social media. Their goal is to spread that local experience to every community throughout the Okanagan. The last question to ask is how do I sign up? Take the first step by visiting this website and commit to supporting local.
