A Community Hub with a Fresh Vision

Long-time Vernon resident Kevin Geistlinger has recently stepped into the role of General Manager at the Vernon Curling Club, but he’s no newcomer to the scene. With nearly 40 years as a VCC member, Geistlinger knows exactly what makes the club special, and his love for the tight-knit curling community runs deep. We caught up to talk about the club’s recent improvements—in particular, changes to the VCC Lounge. “We have built up a great facility here, including our lounge as an all-around entertainment venue,” Geistlinger states. The quality of the food has the club’s lounge hopping in the wintertime during curling season.

The Stone Throw Café & VCC Lounge – The Secret to a Perfect Event

“The VCC Lounge is a fabulous venue for almost any kind of event,” Geistlinger says. “During the winter, we offer private functions around curling parties, but a lot of people don’t realize we’re open year-round.” And if repeat bookings are any indication, the lounge is highly sought after. So, what’s one secret to their success? The food!

At the heart of VCC’s dining experience is the Stone Throw Café, led by Red Seal Chef Don Eyers, who has been stick handling the club's food scene for over eleven years. His culinary expertise has made the Café a local favourite, serving everything from his legendary burgers to crowd-pleasing chicken wings made in their two brand-new deep fryers. That mastery of the kitchen extends to all catered functions; their food can be delivered to your door through Uber Eats during the winter curling season. “The Christmas and holiday bookings from last season have already re-booked for next year,” Geistlinger says.

More Than Just a Venue – A Space for Every Occasion

Whether you’re looking for an event venue for an anniversary or wedding, birthdays, or a fun corporate get-together, the VCC Lounge has you covered. Four brand-new 75” and 65” big screen TVs, dance floor, dart boards, pool tables, and shuffleboard make it the perfect spot for all ages. This venue is air-conditioned and there’s room for 8 to 200 guests.
