Those who know me well know that real estate and cycling are two of my passions. With the warmer weather here (it’s 24 degrees as I type this), and Bike to Work Week coming up later this month, I’m happy to say that cycling season is here again! With that in mind, I thought I’d share some of my favourite Kelowna cycling routes with you.
Myra Canyon Trestles
Historic Myra Canyon offers some of the best views in the entire Okanagan region and some fantastic cycling. Whether you’re a local or a visitor, a trip to Myra Canyon is a must for your springtime Kelowna itinerary. With 18 bridges and 2 tunnels, there’s plenty to explore. Due to its elevation, Myra Canyon tends to be a few degrees cooler, which is perfect in the summer months when it’s 35+ downtown.
Knox Mountain Park
A little easier to get to, but the views are still spectacular. Knox Mountain is located in Kelowna’s North End, mere minutes from downtown Kelowna. Knox is not the easiest ride - it has some steep inclines - but it is well worth it. Not only is there some great cycling to be had, you’ll be treated to some superb views of Okanagan Lake and Kelowna.
Lakeshore Road
I live in Kelowna’s Upper Mission and the Walker Real Estate office is located at Gordon and Harvey near downtown Kelowna, so I can often be found cycling along Lakeshore Road. No matter your plans, Lakeshore offers a fun ride, taking you past beaches (and awesome lake views) and plenty of coffee shops and eateries - perfect for when you need a pit stop.
