The Pentastic Hot Jazz and Music Festival is celebrating its 25th anniversary in Penticton this September.

The event takes place on September 8, 9, and 10 and features a line-up of familiar bands who will be returning to perform for the festival’s silver anniversary.

This year the festival will also be welcoming Carol Martin’s Swing Band for the first time, who will be performing a special Patsy Cline tribute Saturday evening.

The festival will showcase an array of musical talent spanning across a variety of genres including dixieland, swing, rock-a-billy, traditional jazz and zydeco.

From the multi-instrument gifts of Dave Bennett, who plays clarinet, drums, electric guitar, piano and vocalizes, to the funky New Orleans grooves of Tom Rigney & Flambeau and Professor Cunningham and His Old School South Okanagan Big Band. There will also be performances from Tom Hook and the Hounds and Le Dixieband.

The event will take place across four venues including the Orchard House Theatre and the Elks Club and travel between locations will be made accessible by a free shuttle service.

The festival not only celebrates jazz music but also the city of Penticton, with its plethora of orchards, vineyards, walking and biking trails and diverse cuisines and restaurants.

Pentastic Hot Jazz and Music welcomes attendees of all ages and will be offering $10 day passes for youth 18 and under with ID.

Tickets for the event can be found at here and more information about the festival is also available on the event's Facebook page here.
