WEST KELOWNA - RCMP are urging caution to residents in Glenrosa after a report of a man offering a young girl a ride in his truck early this morning.
Police received a complaint about a older white male in a truck making persistent offers of a ride to a girl on her way to school today, June 7, RCMP spokesman Const. Jesse O’Donaghey says in a press release.
O’Donaghey alleges the man asked repeatedly if the girl wanted a ride to school and claims at one point, the man opened his passenger door and asked her one more time if she wanted a ride.
The young girl is said to have fled the area of Gorman Road and Ficke Road while the driver drove away.
Police say they would like to speak to the man they describe as roughly 45 to 55 years old with white hair and a white mustache driving a black four-door pick-up truck with tinted black windows and a loud exhaust.
Anyone with any information is asked to contact Const. Sherri Lund of the West Kelowna RCMP at 250-768-2880.
