PEACHLAND - Police are hunting for a criminal duo after they used a truck in an attempt to batter their way into a Peachland credit union.

At 5:23 a.m. on Jan. 10, Kelowna RCMP responded to a reported break and enter at the Vantage One Credit Union on Clement Crescent in Peachland. An alarm was trigged on site and when police arrived they discovered extensive damage to the building's exterior.

An abandoned F-350 pickup truck, which was reported stolen earlier in the night, was found and seized near the scene, according to an RCMP media release. Police believe it was used to ram the side of the building multiple times.

While the building suffered thousands of dollars worth of damage, nothing was stolen.

The suspects are believed to have fled in a silver Dodge Ram pickup truck, which was also recovered by police.

“Forensic investigators were called upon to examine the scene for physical evidence," RCMP spokesperson Corp. Jesse O'Donaghey said in a press release.

Anyone with information is asked to call the West Kelowna RCMP at 250-768-2880, or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
