There were 124 people who tested positive for COVID-19 in B.C. over the last 24 hours.
That’s the highest number of cases recorded in a single day since the pandemic started in January. There were 100 cases on Aug. 15.
Only four of the new cases were in the Interior Health region, according to a joint statement issued by Provincial Health Officer Dr. Bonnie Henry and Health Minister Adrian Dix today, Aug. 28.
"This weekend, let's remember to use the layers of protection that keep ourselves and those around us safe,” the statement says. “This is also a good time to think about the new routines that will be part of our activities into the fall. The efforts we make today make the difference for all of us tomorrow."
That brings the total number of cases in B.C. to 5,496 but no new deaths so that total remains at 204.
