WorkSafe B.C. investigating fatality after incident at Kamloops construction site

KAMLOOPS - A WorkSafe B.C. investigation continues after a man who fell from a ladder at a Kamloops worksite died in hospital.

A 45-year-old worker fell 20 feet from a scissor ladder on Nov. 25 at the construction site in the 1800-block of Highway 5A near the Original Joe’s restaurant.

He was transported to Royal Inland Hospital in critical condition at the time.

WorkSafe B.C. spokesperson Scott Money confirms the unidentified worker has died.

“The investigation is still very much in the early stages," Money says. "WorkSafe B.C. takes these matters very seriously and will take a very thorough look at this incident.”

Results of the investigation aren’t expected until March 2016.
