Woman's arm slashed during Penticton robbery

RCMP say a woman suffered a cut to her arm during an armed robbery on Robinson Street in Penticton, Tuesday, Oct. 24, 2016.

PENTICTON - A woman's armed was slashed with a knife during a robbery in Penticton yesterday.

Cpl. Don Wrigglesworth says a Starbucks employee was walking on Robinson Street on her way to make a deposit at TD Canada Trust at about 12:40 p.m., Oct. 24, when a person approached her from behind. He says the suspect cut the strap on the bag containing the day's receipts she was carrying.

The woman received a deep cut to her arm during the theft and was taken to hospital for treatment.

Wrigglesworth says the victim wasn't able to provide much of description of the assailant, only that they were wearing dark clothing.

The suspect got away with about $2,500.
