RCMP are looking for witnesses to an alleged assault of a 49-year-old woman in downtown Kelowna yesterday.

The assault was reported to have occurred at 3 p.m. yesterday, March 15, on Water Street when the victim was walking her dog between the Delta Grand Hotel and the Playtime casino, according to an RCMP media release.

An unknown Caucasian man in his 30s with blond hair approached the woman and punched her twice, police say.

The incident was reported to police several hours after the alleged incident but the victim told police that she had been assisted by two people at the scene.

RCMP want to speak with those two witnesses and anyone else who has knowledge of this incident.
