Woman sexually assaulted by stranger in West Kelowna

West Kelowna RCMP are asking the public for assistance following a report that a sexual assault by a stranger took place this past weekend.

A woman reported she was approached by an unknown man who pulled her into the bushes and sexually assaulted her while she was walking down Bartley Road in West Kelowna towards Highway 97 between 6:30 and 7 a.m., Aug. 29, according to an RCMP media release.

The suspect was wearing a blue shirt, a hat and a face mask. He fled the area on foot.

“Investigators are hoping that someone in the area that morning may have witnessed a part of this incident, or have seen the victim or suspect in the area,” Regional Kelowna RCMP spokesperson Cpl. Jocelyn Noseworthy said in the release. “We are asking anyone who witnessed something, or who might have surveillance video or dash cam footage to contact us.”
