Woman high on drugs loses keys to overdue rental car

PENTICTON - A woman high on drugs was taken to Penticton RCMP detachment's jail cells to come down after being found in the Walmart parking lot earlier this week.

Cpl. Don Wrigglesworth says police found the woman outside a rented car, with two dogs inside the vehicle around 9:45 p.m. Monday, June 12.

The woman told police she’d lost the keys to the car, which was nearly a month overdue to be returned to a rental company.

Wrigglesworth says the woman admitted to using methamphetamine and GHB within the last hour and she wasn’t sure how she ended up at the Walmart parking lot as she was very intoxicated.

She was taken to the detachment’s cells to sober up.

Police had the rental vehicle towed after the two dogs were released from the car, and the woman was later released without charges.
