PENTICTON - A mobile home park fire in Penticton late last month has had tragic consequences as the B.C. Coroner’s office reports the death of a victim in the fire.
The B.C. Coroners Service says investigators are in the early stages of an investigation into the death of a woman in her 70s following the fire, which broke out in a mobile home unit at Riva Ridge Estates Mobile Home Park in Penticton on May 29.
The building was fully involved when firefighters arrived at the scene but they were able to rescue the woman from a back room in the unit. She was taken to the hospital for treatment of burns.
The woman's identity has not been released.
The Coroners Service says the investigation will be looking at how, when, where and by what means the woman came to her death.
