Woman arrested after attempted Kelowna robbery

A 21-year-old woman is currently in police custody after an attempted robbery at a Kelowna business.

Kelowna RCMP officers received a report a woman had entered a business at the 1900 block of Pandosy Street, produced a knife and demanded money on Sept. 10 shortly before 8:20 a.m.

The woman allegedly threatened the staff, grabbed merchandise and fled the area on foot, according to the RCMP in a news release.

Police officers flooded the area and arrested the suspect without incident.

“Fortunately no one was injured in this robbery,” Kelowna RCMP spokesperson Cpl. Jocelyn Noseworthy said in the release.

The Kelowna woman remains in custody and the matter has been forwarded to the B.C. Prosecution Service for a charge review.
