RCMP investigators are looking for witnesses to a hate incident on a B.C Transit bus in Kelowna on Halloween night.

A man hurled racist insults at a group of female passengers and got into a fight with a male passenger before getting off the bus.

The incident happened at around 6:20 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 31, on bus 6015 travelling route 8 near Ziprick Road and Highway 33, according to an RCMP media release.

A man standing near the rear door of the bus was caught on video mocking the women's accents and taunting them.

“There is no place in our society for racism,” Kelowna RCMP Supt. Kara Triance said in the release. “Our diversity is what makes British Columbia an incredible place to live and work.”

Kelowna RCMP is working with B.C. Transit on the investigation and are reaching out to passengers who have not yet spoken to them.

Anyone with any information is asked to contact the Kelowna RCMP at 250-762-3300 or remain completely anonymous by calling Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 or by leaving a tip online at www.crimestoppers.net.
