Witnesses sought after teen reports assault at Riverside Park

The washrooms near the water park at Riverside Park.

KAMLOOPS - Police will need help figuring out who grabbed and fondled a teenage girl at Riverside Park Monday because she didn't get a chance to see her alleged attacker.

At about 5:30 p.m. July 28 the girl was near the water park washrooms at Riverside Park when she says an unknown man came up from behind, put his hand over her mouth and fondled her, according to an RCMP press release.

She told police he stopped when a woman exited the washroom. The woman saw what was happening and yelled at the man who ran away.

RCMP would like the witness to step forward along with any others in the park at the time of the incident and contact the Kamloops detachment at 250-828-3000.
