Winners announced in ReelPeachFest film festival

This year's winners of the third annual ReelPeachFest Film Festival were announced Monday, Aug, 14, 2017.

PENTICTON - The third annual ReelPeachFest film festival concluded Sunday night with the final day of Peach Fest 2017.

Producer Andrew Jakubeit says the festival had room for 30 submissions this year, receiving entries that were more creative and less promotional than in the past, a goal the festival was moving towards.

“The films made people laugh, smile and exposed them to experiences that they might never know existed,” he says.

Festival winners for the two categories - Okanagan Experience and Liquid Libations - are as follows:

Okanagan Experience

  • Fan Favourite - Rumble in the Bronx (produced by Dave Mai)
  • Third place - What keeps us here (produced by Nic Collar)
  • Second place - Rob & Lily (produced by Josh Klaassen)
  • First place - Dragon Boat (produced by Siversword media)

Liquid Libations

  • Fan Favourite - Battle of the Beers (produced by Dave Mai)
  • Third place - From the Dark Water (produced by ET2 Media)
  • Second place - Battle of the Beers (produced by Dave Mai)
  • First place - Penticton Ale Trail (produced by Geoff Tomlin-Hood, Kim Lawton, Melanie Ransome)

Prize winners walked away with $1,000 for first prize, $500 for second place and $250 for third place and fan favourite.
