A wildfire burning to the north of Highway 97C is still classified as out of control.

The Mount Miller wildfire, burning roughly 2.5 kilometres to the north of the highway, northwest of Peachland, is still estimated to be two hectares in size as of this morning.

There are two helicopters on site this morning as well as air tankers and six wildfire crew members, said B.C. Wildfire Service information officer Shaylee Stearns.

The cause of the fire is suspected to be lightning but still undetermined at this time, she said.

Stearns did not have an update on the direction of where the fire is burning, given how the wind can quickly change the fire's direction, she said.
