KAMLOOPS - A blaze broke out near Batchelor Heights earlier today and is visible from Kamloops.
According to Madison Smith, a fire information officer with B.C. Wildfire Service, 6 B.C. Wildfire Service personnel are currently on-site and were assisted by an air tanker earlier.
She says the fire is suspected to be human-caused.
According to Kamloops Fire Rescue platoon captain Darryl Cooper. the fire is currently under control and is half a hectare. Cooper says 16 Kamloops Fire Rescue personnel were on site.
“The fire is half a hectare in size, and it was rank two. It is currently under control, and we have a 75 per cent wet line around the fire,’ Cooper says.
