A major motion picture with “A List” actors is opening in Canada and the U.S. this week after being shot, in part, in the southern Interior.

Light of My Life is “the story of a parent and child journey through the outskirts of society a decade after a pandemic has wiped out half the world’s population,” states a news release from the Okanagan Film Commission.

It stars Academy Award winner Casey Affleck (Manchester by the Sea, The Old Man & the Gun), who also wrote the screenplay, produced and directed the film (his second feature as a director).

It also stars Emmy Award winner Elisabeth Moss (Mad Men, The Handmaids’ Tale); rising star Anna Pniowsky (Pen 15, He’s Out There) and Tom Bower (Out of the Furnace, As You Like It).

“With an extensive exposure of this film we, once again, are pleased to be showcasing the Okanagan as a location for high profile films with “A List” actors,” Jon Summerland, okanagan film commissioner, said in the release.

Bridesville and Greenwood are, of course, not in the Okanagan, they are in Boundary Country to the southeast.

The film has already aired at film festivals in Germany, Berlin, Jerusalem and the Czech Republic.

It will be available on home entertainment formats this October.
