Kelowna will have the largest Canada Day festival in the region with music, activities and its fireworks display, but residents across the region have options too.
Vernon area residents can pick from two fan-favourites by heading to either Polson Park or O'Keefe Ranch for Canada celebrations. Neither will host fireworks, but there will be music, carnival games and vendors at both.
The Polson Artisan Night Market will be at the park until 10 p.m. with events starting at noon. Vernonites can check out a skate competition, a dunk tank and live music all day. More information is available here, with more to be announced in the coming days.
Historic O'Keefe Ranch will host events from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., including wagon rides, role play artists and live music. More information can be found here.
In the South Okanagan, Penticton will host its Canada Day festival at Gyro Park from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., according to a news release.
Residents can also expect live music throughout the day along with food trucks, an obstacle course and kids activities. More information is available at the City website here, but there are no plans for fireworks.
Kelowna's Canada Day festival will be the largest in the region with a closing fireworks display over Okanagan Lake at 10 p.m.
The Waterfront Park festival will start at 11 a.m. with the annual folk fest beginning an hour earlier at Prospera Place. Bands will play at three different stages.
Information on lineups and festival schedules are available here for the entire event, including the Pioneer Gardens stage, Island Stage and Tugboat Beach stage.
Kelowna isn't alone in fireworks displays, however. Peachland will host one at 10:30 p.m., ending a full day of events that begins with a pancake breakfast and includes a parade, a beach race and other family activities.
The Peachland website has more information here.
Osoyoos and Kamloops are each expected to host their own fireworks displays but details haven't yet been announced.
Kamloops will host its Canada Day events at Riverside Park from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., with more information available here when the full schedule is announced.
