Big, bright firework displays are set to burst over the skies of Kamloops and the Okanagan this New Year's Eve.
Here are a few displays being lit up over area ski hills and some city centres.
Sun Peaks Resort’s firework show is complimentary, and a big finish to an afternoon of family fun events on Dec. 31.
“The grand finale is a spectacular fireworks show against our beautiful mountain backdrop,” reads an event post on the website.
The show starts at 8:30 p.m. from the slope side of the Village Day Lodge. The resort is located on Alpine Road, 55 kilometres northeast of Kamloops.

SilverStar Mountain near Vernon is lighting up the New Year's Eve evening starting with a torchlight parade at 5 p.m. and finishing with a fireworks show.
It is free for spectators to watch from the resort village as over 100 people ride down the dark slopes carrying flares to the village just before fireworks light up the sky.
The resort is located on Shortt Street, around 24 kilometres from Vernon.

Big White Ski Resort located on Big White Road in Kelowna sets off fireworks every Saturday evening at 8:15 p.m. from Dec. 10 to Apr. 8 where guests can watch from accommodations, restaurants and patios.
The New Year's Eve show takes place at midnight in the Village Centre.
Apex Mountain Resort in the South Okanagan will be setting off fireworks twice on New Year's Eve. The first show in the village is for the younger ones at 6 p.m. and the second is at midnight. The resort on Strayhorse Road is about a 30 minute drive from Penticton.
The resort will also be setting of fireworks on Christmas Eve this year, when Santa and Mrs. Claus come to visit.

Kelowna’s annual tradition of the Valley First New York New Year's Eve celebration is returning to Stuart Park for their ninth year, after a two-year COVID hiatus.
The free event is made for families and runs from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., featuring outdoor activities including skating on an ice rink, carnival games and activities in the “Kid’s Snow Zone,” free glow sticks and goodies.
At 9 p.m. Mayor Dyas will do a countdown to ring in an early New Year and fireworks will be shot from the North West point in City Park, visible along the waterfront from the The Sails to the Kelowna Yacht Club.
