When Premier John Horgan called the snap election two weeks ago it left all political parties in B.C., including his own NDP, scrambling to find candidates before nominations closed.

The deadline to be named as a candidate in the provincial election was this past Friday, Oct. 24, but the list did not become official until later in the weekend.

In the seven ridings that cover the Kamloops, Vernon, Kelowna and Penticton areas, all three parties that had sitting MLAs before the election was called did manage to get candidates on the ballot. They will be joined by three Libertarians, three independents and two Conservatives.

There are no representatives from the Christian Heritage, B.C. Vision, Wexit B.C. or Communist parties, each of which have at least two candidates running elsewhere in B.C.
