The Thompson-Okanagan is buzzing with events all week long but when the weekend hits, narrowing down your plans can be a challenge. That’s why we’ve done the work for you.
To help you make the most of your weekend without the endless scrolling, we’ve rounded up five can’t-miss events happening on Oct. 3, 4, and 5 across Kelowna, Vernon, Penticton, and Kamloops.
KELOWNA

Charlie Demers Comedy Show – The Juno-nominated stand-up comedian will be joined by host Faris Hytiaa and the local comedian Alison Lujan for an evening of laughter on Oct. 3 from 7:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. at the Rotary Centre of the Arts. $50.60 per general admission ticket.

Don-O-Ray Haunted Farm Adventure – Stop by Don-O-Ray’s all weekend long for a ghost town full of family, autumn-themed activities like a hedge maze, archery, and a pumpkin patch. The adventure starts at 10 a.m. and closes at 5 p.m. Tickets are $10 per person, with ages 2 and under entering for free.

Fall GoByBike Week @ Railside Brewing – Your last chance to enjoy Fall GoByBike is on Oct. 3 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Railside Brewing. This is a community ride starting and ending at Railside and is open to all ages.

Halloween Movie Night in the Vines – Watch Ghostbusters with the whole family at Priest Creek Winery on Oct. 3, starting at 5 p.m. Tickets for adults are $15 each and tickets for children are $10 each.

CIBC Run for the Cure – Join a good cause on Sunday, Oct 5, from 8:30 a.m. to noon at City Park to help raise funds for breast cancer research.
VERNON

St. Anne's Pumpkin Patch – This patch will be open all month long, but grabbing the best pumpkin in the bunch before the crowds show up might be a good idea. They’re open from dawn to dusk all weekend long and only accept cash, but the prices can’t be beat. Small pumpkins are only $1 each, medium pumpkins are $2 each, and large pumpkins are $3 each.

Art in the Mall Fall Show – The Village Green Shopping Centre will be showcasing what the Okanagan Artists of Canada Society’s local artists have been creating during their regular mall hours of 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. all month long.

Bloom Sunflower Festival – All weekend long from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. at 4289 Salmon River Road, attendees can enjoy fields of towering sunflowers, the perfect photo spots for your Instagram feed, u-pick stems, picnics, lawn games, and more. Tickets for adults start at $20 each and youth under fifteen years old attend for free with pre-registration.

Oktoberfest – Vernon’s third annual Oktoberfest is happening on Oct. 4 from 5:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. at the Elks Lodge. Enjoy authentic German food, live music, and fun raffles. This is a 19+ age event and tickets are $20 per person.

Okanagan Vintage Fair – Browse vintage treasures at the Coldstream Community Hall from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Oct. 5.
PENTICTON

Subaru Canada Adventure Racing World Championships – Teams from around the world will be competing in a 750+ kilometre race across multiple days, including Oct. 3 and 4 all day long. Okanagan Lake Park will serve as the central hub of the event for closing and opening ceremonies, live tracking, and community engagement. Viewing the race is free.

Up All Night at Sociale! – This Saturday, Oct. 4, stop by Sociale for a night of DJ fun from 9 p.m. to midnight. This is a free event and no tickets are required to enjoy this beach club on Lakeshore Drive.

Open Mic Jam Night at Bar One – Enjoy singing, playing, dancing, drinks, and food at Bar One on Oct. 5 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Feel free to bring your own instrument to add to October’s theme of rock ‘n roll. There is no cover for this event.

Penticton Vees – Support the local junior hockey time with the whole family on Oct. 3 and 4. Friday’s game starts at 7:05 p.m. and is the Penticton Vees vs. Portland Winterhawks. Saturday’s game starts at 6:05 p.m. and is the Penticton Vees vs. Seattle Thunderbirds. Youth tickets are $10 each and adult’s are $26 each.

Mountain Tea Harvest – This event is open to adults (19+), Black, Indigenous, People of Colour, Newcomers to Canada, and Immigrants on Oct. 3 from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Wholesale Club on 200 Carmi Avenue. This is your chance to learn about the mountain tea that grows in the syilx Okanagan and harvest some of these incredible plants under the guidance of facilitator (Anona Kampe). Entry is by donation.

Privato Pumpkin Patch – Take the whole family to Privato Winery on Oct. 3, 4, and 5 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. to enjoy a pet and kid-friendly environment. The entire family can get a pass for $25 or adults can enter for $15 each to get a pumpkin or $10 for non-pumpkin entry.

Plucker – TRU Actors Workshop Theatre will be performing the contemporary comedy Plucker on Oct. 3 and 4, starting at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $20 each.

Queen of Hearts – This event on Oct. 3 is designed for women to help them navigate their journey through careers, business growth, motherhood, and more. VIPs get access to the venue, the Delta Hotel, at 5 p.m. and general admission enter at 5:45 p.m. Dinner will be served at 6:30 p.m., followed by keynote speakers and much more. Tickets start at $248 per person.

BrewLoops 2025 – Don’t miss Kamloops’ premier beer, music, and culture festival on Oct. 3 and 4 from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. at the McArthur Island Disc Golf Course. This is a 19+ event.

Once Upon a Time Gala Fundraiser – On Oct. 4, join A Toast to You’s fourth annual gala where the theme will transport you into a magical storybook. Enjoy dinner, live music, dancing, and silent auctions to help raise funds for BGC’s The Journey Fund, helping pay for the therapy of parents that have experienced trauma so they can be there for their children. This event will take place at The Coast Kamloops Hotel and Conference Centre at 5:30 p.m. Tickets are $130 each or $910 for a table of eight guests.
