WestJet offering more flights out of Kelowna this summer

Travellers will be able to jet across the country more easily this summer. WestJet has announced more frequent flights and three new destinations from Kelowna’s airport.

There will be an increase in flights to Toronto as well as flights to Winnipeg, Regina, and Saskatoon, according to a City of Kelowna press release.

At the moment, WestJet offers twice weekly flights to Toronto on Monday and Friday, but it will start offering more frequent flights on April 28, reaching daily direct flights during peak travel times in the summer.

WestJet flights to Winnipeg, Regina and Saskatoon will start in June.

This announcement has come at a time when the airport is working on its $108 million expansion project.

The airport has passed the 2-million passenger-a-year mark, and the growth is expected to continue.
