KAMLOOPS - Are you an actor in the Kamloops area?
Western Canada Theatre is holding general auditions in Kamloops for the Sagebrush and Pavilion Theatres' 2019/2020 season. The Sagebrush Theatre is expected to reopen in September, after an emergency closure forced the relocation of multiple shows.
Artistic Director James MacDonald and Producer Dawn Bergstrom will be present at the audition, according to a Western Canada Theatre media release.
"WCT encourages submissions from diverse artists of all backgrounds, regardless of race, colour, gender, national origin, age, religion, creed, disability, sexual orientation, gender identity or gender expression," the theatre says.
They do not want video submissions. Equity members and non-union actors can apply for an audition time by sending a resume and headshot to auditions@wctlive.ca. Make sure to include "General Auditions - Kamloops" in the subject line, and send in your application no later than Friday, April 5 at 5 p.m.
Equity members are asked to indicate your status in your submission as well as any time restrictions you may have on the audition date. If ACTRA actors are selected they will be required to join Equity if they are not already members.
The theatre company will contact actors selected for auditions.
If you are selected for an audition make sure you have either: two contrasting monologues, one classical and one contemporary; or one contemporary monologue and one song sung a cappella. Each monologue should be no longer than three minutes duration.
Equity members will be seen first at all open audition calls, and should bring their membership card to the audition.
