The name of the “exclusive world-wide luxury brand” hotel that Westcorp is planning to build in downtown Kelowna will be “revealed” in two weeks.

More than a decade in the works, Westcorp got its development permit from the City of Kelowna in February for its planned 33-storey hotel at the foot of Queensway downtown.

An invitation to the press conference on March 25 to announce the name says this will be the first hotel of this brand in Canada.

Westcorp originally bought the land in 2007 and has made a number of efforts to launch the project over the years.

Its current development permit is good for two years.
