WEST KELOWNA - A West Kelowna woman is vying for a cover photo on Maxim Magazine and a cash prize, but she faces a lot of competition.
Kirsten Martell is entered in the Maxim Cover Girl Canada contest for 2019. The competition attracts female models from across the country, all of them aiming for a career-changing prize: A featured spread in Maxim Magazine.
There is also a $10,000 prize for the winner, which certainly sweetens the deal.
Literally hundreds of women have entered the contest in the preliminary round. They are sectioned off into groups where people can vote for their favourite competitors and advance them into the next round. Voting for the top 10 ends on May 16 at 8 a.m.
Martell is doing quite well with voters at the moment. She's currently ranked second overall in her group, which bodes well for her future in the competition, although it's a long road from the preliminary round to the Maxim cover.
In her Maxim profile, Martell said she would use the $10,000 to build her business, increase her savings and go shopping.
