West Kelowna residents face a home intrusion and theft

A home in West Kelowna was broken into and the suspect stole cash and a credit card from the residence.

On the morning of Aug. 10 on the 3200 block of McIver Road, a house was broken into by a male suspect wearing a dark camouflage shirt with a hood covering his head, dark jeans, sunglasses and a grey baseball hat on, with white and orange shoes.

The suspect entered the home while the homeowners were out for a walk. The homeowner’s daughter and granddaughter were still at the residence in the basement when the incident took place.

The daughter of the homeowners heard the noise from above but believed it was her parents returning home from their outing.

The suspect took the cash and a credit card and used the card to purchase items at three West Kelowna businesses before the card was reported as stolen. There is surveillance footage showing the suspect making the purchases with the stolen card.

West Kelowna RCMP are asking for help in identifying the suspect and ask residents to contact the West Kelowna detachment at 250-768-2880 and reference file 2024-45959.
