Police officers were at a West Kelowna grocery store to collect food for the needy.

Earlier today, April 8, West Kelowna RCMP officers made their annual visit to the Real Canadian Superstore to support the Central Okanagan Food Bank. They were joined by Westbank Law Enforcement bylaw officers, RCMP volunteers and employees of the store, according to an RCMP media release.

“Hundreds of items were donated by generous shoppers,” the release says.

In anticipation of how generous the community is known to be, the cops came with a van instead of a car.

"We are grateful to have been invited to this event and will continue to support our community partners and those in need,” Cpl. Judith Bertrand said in the release.
