The odds are in your favour if you want to check out tonight's Worm Moon in the night sky.
March's full moon goes by many names including Worm Moon, Crow Moon and Sugar Moon, according to NASA. The moon appeared bright in the skies last night reaching its peak illumination at 4:42 a.m. this morning, March 7.
"The moon rises at 6 p.m. and will set at 7 a.m. so you can see it pretty much all night," Kelowna astrophotographer and member the Royal Astronomical Society Sean Perdue said. "It's called the Worm Moon because earthworms start to come out around this time signalling spring and bringing back the birds."
Also appearing in the sky tonight will be Venus, Jupiter and Mars, along with the bright cluster of four stars called Capella, the constellation Orion and the brightest star Sirius.
