Water restrictions back in Kamloops

KAMLOOPS - You have to pay attention to which day you are watering your lawn or garden in Kamloops now that the annual watering restrictions have kicked in.

The city's watering restrictions took effect May 1. Property owners with even numbered addresses can only water on even numbered days, while people with odd numbered addresses can only water on odd numbered days.

The times allowed for watering are restricted as well, from 6 a.m. until 11 a.m. and 6 p.m. until midnight. Automatic irrigation is allowed on the appropriate day as well between midnight until 11 a.m.

Hand watering is the exception and is allowed at anytime.

Those failing to comply with the watering restrictions, which are in effect until Sept. 1, face $100 the first time they’re caught and $200 every time after that.
