KELOWNA - A water quality advisory has been issued for Star Place Water customers.
The precautionary advisory affects eight properties off Trepanier Road near the Okanagan Connector.
“All water intended for drinking, washing fruit and vegetables, making beverages, ice or brushing teeth should be boiled for at least one minute or customers should use a safe alternative to water from the tap such as bottled or distilled water,” Regional District of Central Okanagan communications officer Bruce Smith says in a press release.
The condition of the water is due to a high runoff, resulting in increased turbidity, in the water system.
Although no bacteria has been found in the water and the heath risk is low, Smith says residents should refrain from using the water, especially those with weakened immune systems such as children and seniors.
This water advisory will be in place until further notice.
