Watch for stolen beauty products for sale after break-ins in Kamloops

Kamloops RCMP are hoping the public can help locate some stolen property taken during a pair of break-ins at beauty industry businesses early this morning.

At about 2:40 a.m. today, March 5, police responded to an alarm at a business on Summit Drive, according to an RCMP news release. A broken window was found, but no suspects were located.

Then police were called again after glass was heard breaking at a commercial address on Hillside Drive at about 4:40 a.m. The front door had been smashed and products were scattered around inside, although it was unknown what was stolen.

RCMP do not identify either of the businesses. It's not known if the two crimes are related.

Police say residents should take care when buying beauty products privately.

“By buying items you suspect may be stolen you are inadvertently encouraging crime. Please take the time to ask questions of sellers and if something sounds too good to be true, remember it probably is,” Const. Crystal Evelyn said.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Kamloops RCMP at 250-828-3000 and reference RCMP file 2021-6799 for the Summit Avenue break-in, and RCMP file 2021-6802 for the Hillside incident.
