WEST KELOWNA - The West Kelowna Warriors scored a season high 10 goals from ten different goal scorers in a 10-2 victory over the Coquitlam Express on Saturday night at Royal LePage Place.

The scoring started just 27 seconds into the game as Chase Stevenson lasered a wrist shot past the blocker side of the Express goaltender Reid Cooper from the left-wing face-off circle for his 6th goal of the season and gave the Warriors an early 1-0 advantage.

Coquitlam had an answer just 45 seconds later at the 1:12 mark as Owen Stout tied the game at one before the Warriors took their lead back at the 1:49 mark, just 37 seconds after the Express goal, Jordan Todd fired a shot blocker side for his 2nd goal of the season to give the Warriors a 2-1 lead which would stand throughout the remainder of the first period.

The Warriors came out of the intermission and would erupt for four second period goals which started at the 1:22 mark of the frame as Chase Dubois found the loose puck on the blocker side and buried his 15th goal of the season on the man advantage to extend the Warriors lead to 3-1 early in period number two.

Quin Foreman pushed the Warriors lead to three with a goal at the 2:41 mark of the middle stanza after a beautiful pass from Michael Ryan to spot an open Foreman on the blocker side and made no mistake for his 23rd goal of the season that got the Warriors lead up to 4-1.

West Kelowna earned two more goals before the 2nd period came to a close as Cavin Tilsley collected his 4th goal of the season after a scramble in front of the net that he buried a loose puck in the slot with a cluttered goalmouth at the 9:14 mark of the period before Michael Ryan tallied his 8th goal of the season as he fired a shot low to the blocker side of Cooper shorthanded to give the Warriors a 6-1 lead at the 18:26 mark of the 2nd period and that how things would shape up after 40 minutes of play.

The Warriors hit the score sheet four more times in the final period of play that started with the first career goal from defensemen Tyler Jutting as he let go of a shot on the blocker side of Cooper and in just 52 seconds in for his 1st goal as a member of the Warriors and in the BCHL to extend the lead to 7-1.

Jon Russell scored his second goal in as many nights and his 6th goal of the season as he whacked in a shot from the left face-off circle at the 2:57 mark of the 3rd period before Parm Dhaliwal tapped in a backdoor pass at the 7:54 mark of the frame for his 5th goal to push the Warriors lead to 9-1.

Coquitlam got their second goal of the game from Owen Stout on the power play at the 10:55 mark before the Warriors hit double digits for the first time in nearly five years as Logan Mostat finished a nice passing play on the backdoor for his 17th goal of the season at the 18:13 mark of the 3rd period to finish out the scoring and give the Warriors a resounding 10-2 victory over the Express.

Gabriel Morency made 21 saves on 23 shots for his 2nd victory as a member of the Warriors while Reid Cooper turned aside 43 of the 53 shots he faced in the game and picked up his 24th loss of the season in the process.

With the victory, and coupled with a 9-1 loss for the Surrey Eagles to the Wenatchee Wild, the Warriors have officially clinched a playoff spot.
