An unusually warm fall and very green Christmas with some flowers blooming is going to continue through New Year’s Day in Kamloops and the Okanagan.
Temperatures are forecast to reach 7 Celsius in Kamloops today, Dec. 29 then slowly drop to 4 C on Monday (New Year’s Day), according to Environment Canada’s online forecast.
Overnight lows are expected to be above freezing through the weekend.
Normal high temperatures for this time of year are about -1 C with overnight lows of -7.5 C.
Vernon and Kelowna are expected to reach 5 C today, dropping to 2 C on New Year’s Day with overnight lows hovering around freezing.
Penticton’s highs are forecast to reach 7 C today and tomorrow before dropping lower on the weekend.

The only possibility of precipitation in the forecast for the next seven days is a 30% chance of rain showers or ice pellets in the Okanagan late Saturday morning and early Saturday afternoon.
Next week’s forecast is for daytime highs to only reach -1 C to -2 C by Wednesday and Thursday with overnight lows down to -5 C.
