Warm dry week ahead as fall arrives in Kamloops, Okanagan

Wednesday is the first day of fall.

After a cool and damp last official week of summer, Kamloops and the Okanagan are moving into generally warmer and sunnier weather as fall arrives.

The Autumnal Equinox, signalling the first official day of fall, arrives on Wednesday at 12:20 p.m.

That’s looking to be a the only really cloudy day this week but with a high temperature of 23 Celsius in Kamloops and 20 C in the Okanagan, and no forecast rain.

Today, Sept. 20, potentially, will be the wettest day of the week with a 30% chance of precipitation.

For the rest of the week, it’s mostly a mix of sun and cloud with a call for sunny skies on Thursday and Friday.

After today, highs will be in the range of 19 C to 24C in Kamloops, 20C to 22 C in the Okanagan.

Overnight lows, after dropping to 7 C in both regions tonight, are forecast to range from 8 C to 13 C in Kamloops, 8 C to 11 C in the Okanagan.

Fall continues until 7:59 a.m. Dec. 21, the first official day of winter.
