PENTICTON - A wanted fugitive was arrested just west of Osoyoos yesterday and is facing drug charges as a result.

RCMP say after failing to produce identification when pulled over for speeding on Highway 3 yesterday, Jan. 2, officers discovered the 40-year-old man was wanted on outstanding arrest warrants for failing to attend court and breach of probation.

The Okanagan Falls resident’s vehicle was searched and found to contain large amounts of drugs, including cocaine, heroin, marijuana and magic mushrooms, according to a RCMP media release. Bear spray and multiple knives were also seized.

He is facing numerous charges and was scheduled to appear in Penticton Provincial court today, Jan. 3.
