Wanted man nabbed by police in North Okanagan

ENDERBY - A wanted man’s luck ran out after he tried to flee from police on a motorcycle, then by foot in a North Okanagan community on the weekend.

Police say officers spotted the wanted man riding his motorcycle northbound on Watershed Road in Enderby on Saturday, April 21. The suspect rode onto a rural property where he wiped out and took off on foot.

The dog unit and a helicopter were called in to search for the suspect who was found hiding in a shed, according to an RCMP media release.

"This particular male has been at large for several months on outstanding warrants for serious offences committed in the Enderby and North Okanagan area," Const. Kelly Brett says in the release. "A considerable amount of hours were spent in attempting to locate this individual by RCMP members and on this particular day, the wanted man’s luck ran out."

A 25-year-old Enderby man remains in custody and is facing several firearm and drug-related charges. RCMP have not released his identity.
