VERNON - A Vernon murder case is going to trial.
Tal Kalum La Riviere faces a second degree murder charge in connection to the death of Jason Hardy, whose body was found in Polson Park in 2015.
Yesterday, Oct. 4, a judge ordered La Riviere to stand trial for the offence. The ruling came after evidence was presented at a preliminary inquiry earlier this year.
Initially, there were two other people charged in the case, a 19-year-old and a 15-year-old, however charges against them were stayed by the Crown, which said there was not a substantial likelihood of conviction.
La Riviere’s trial will be held in Vernon Supreme Court. A date has not yet been set.
