Vernon Fire Rescue responds to possible vehicle arson

VERNON  — A vehicle fire in Vernon is now being investigated as a possible arson. 

Vernon Fire Rescue responded the a call at about 12:30 a.m. today, Feb. 2. Captain Colin Clarke told iNFOnew.ca crews arrived on scene in the 200 block of Bailey Road to find a truck fully engulfed in flame.

"We put it out and the fire was suspicious in nature," Clarke says in a phone interview, "So we turned the scene over to RCMP."

Crews had to close Bailey Road for about 30 minutes to deal with the fire.

Vernon Fire Rescue responded with one engine and six members.

RCMP are now investigating the cause of the fire.

No injuries were reported.
