VERNON - Christmas is a great time to catch up with family, friends, and TV shows you haven't watched yet. But if you need a break, the City of Vernon is offering a bevy of Christmas events to fill your holiday schedule.

The Centennial outdoor rink is hosting public skates all week long, weather permitting. Check out the schedule to find the best time to lace up your skates.

Why not follow the instructions of "White Christmas" and take a horse-drawn sleigh ride? Silver Star Mountain Resort and Silver Sage Stables are offering several sleigh rides over the next week. Silver Star will also be hosting a series of Christmas-related events.

Celebrate Christmas with people and food at St. James School on Dec. 25. They're offering free food and entertainment starting at 2 p.m. They're also giving free transportation and dinner delivery.

Tired of skating? Check out the Vernon Recreation Centre on Dec. 26 for an evening public swim.

There's no shortage of holiday events this week. Check out this full list of activities, or let us know in the comment section about any events that might be flying under the radar.
