The courier company responsible for the majority of Amazon deliveries in the Vernon area says it's meeting its targets despite dozens of complaints from customers over missing parcels.
Courier company Intelcom has been the cause of many complaints from Amazon customers in Vernon since at least last spring.
While complaints flood social media, the company is defending its track record.
"All our indicators are showing that our operations are generally meeting our targets in the Vernon area," Intelcom said in a statement.
Vernon resident Sara Vu doesn't agree.
"Well they must have very low targets," Vu told iNFOnews.ca. "I've had about seven separate deliveries not turn up."
Vu said she regularly buys a lot of things she needs for her business from Amazon and has had multiple no-shows in the last couple of months.
"I don't know if it's their work ethic," she said. "I've had so many things not turn up."
From missing parcels to one left in a snowbank at the end of her driveway, Vu said it's common for the tracking to say that a parcel is out for delivery but won't show up until the next day.
And she's not alone.
Dozens of people took to the Vernon & Area Community Forum recently to complain about the lack of service.
Some complaints even report parcels that have been cut open.
Last March, one customer shared a familiar story where a parcel didn't show up so was cancelled, only to see two of the same item arrive a month later.
At the time, Intelcom said it was aware that packages had taken longer than expected but it was "confident" that things would improve.
Almost a year later the company seems plagued with the same issues.
"Intelcom annually delivers tens of millions of packages everywhere in Canada and puts customer satisfaction at the centre of its priorities," Intelcom said. "Through these successfully completed deliveries some isolated situations may occasionally occur, for which we are taking action as soon as they are identified."
Vu said she's started trying to bypass Amazon completely and buy direct from the source in China and India.
In the meantime, Intelcom says customers should contact its Customer Experience Center to get immediate support, should there be a problem with their delivery.
Intelcom's Customer Experience Center can be found by calling 1-833-622-1570 or going through the company's website here.
