Live in Vernon and haven't got your Amazon parcel? You're not alone

While it used to boast free two-day shipping, Amazon Prime customers in the Vernon area have been waiting a lot longer than that for parcels lately.

Multiple people report parcels that take weeks to arrive or simply don't show up at all.

Over the last few weeks, dozens of people have posted to social media complaining that they didn't get parcels they'd ordered.

Canadian courier company Intelcom appears to be the route of the issue.

One Vernon Amazon Prime customer shared what seems to be a familiar story.

The Amazon Prime customer said they ordered some shelving through Amazon Prime shortly after the new year. Amazon Prime customers pay $7.99 a month, and along with a movie and TV streaming service, get free shipping.

While Amazon Prime used to regularly offer two-day shipping the shelving was supposed to take about a week to arrive.

However, one month later, and with no shelving having yet arrived, the customer cancelled the order.

Thinking they may have better luck if they re-ordered the same shelving a second time, they then ordered again.

However, roughly one month later nothing had arrived.

Just when the customer was thinking they needed to cancel the order and give up, the shelving arrived.

Then, around one week later, a second parcel of shelving arrived.

The Amazon Prime customer can only assume while her credit card was refunded for the cancelled shelves, the order was never actually cancelled.

"What's the point of paying for Amazon Prime? You're supposed to get two-day shipping," they said. It's ridiculous."

The story is reiterated by multiple people on the Vernon & Area Community Forum.

In an email, Intelcom admitted to slow service.

"We are aware that some packages recently took longer than expected to be delivered out of our Vernon station and understand that this might have brought frustration to some customers," a company spokesperson said.

Intelcom did however say it was "confident" that things would improve as early as this week.

"We are taking measures to make sure all parcels are delivered within the expected time frame," the email said.

Intelcom didn't respond to questions about why some parcels hadn't been delivered or how they were going to fix the issue.
