VERNON - A North Okanagan woman has been charged with drug trafficking after police raided a house and found cocaine, methamphetamine and fentanyl.

According to a Vernon North Okanagan RCMP media release the raid took place at the 2800-block of 35 Street, early Tuesday evening, July 9. Police searched the residence and found what they believe to be cocaine, methamphetamine and fentanyl as well drug paraphernalia, including scales and packaging, and an undisclosed amount of Canadian currency.

The raid took place at a residence police considered a 'problem property.' When police entered the property they discovered 20 individuals inside.

"This residence, which was recently identified as a priority problem premise, generated numerous calls for the police over a short period of time," RCMP Targeted Policing Unit Corp. Dan Pollock said in the release. "While it is not unusual to locate numerous people at a residence, to find 20 people was taxing on police resources to identify and process each individual. The investigation and execution of this search warrant is a great example of teamwork by all of our frontline members and plainclothes units."

A 30-year-old North Okanagan woman was arrested and faces charges relating to drug trafficking. She was released from police custody and will appear in court at a future date. Police say the investigation is still ongoing.
