KELOWNA - If you see a mass of masked people clad in black this weekend, don't panic. They'll probably just give you a lecture about veganism.

The Cube of Truth is coming to Kelowna during Pride Week festivities on June 22 at 211 Bernard Avenue. Men and Women with Guy Fawkes masks will form a human square and offer information on veganism.

The Cube of Truth is a popular form of public demonstration that's popped up across the world in the last few years. Anonymous for the Voiceless kickstarted the trend in Australia before it went viral in 2016.

Groups typically occupy public space armed with videos and information on the conditions animals face in the food industry. The volunteers create a square and stand still as they hold their signs and videos. Curious onlookers can speak with an outreach team to learn more about veganism.

Cubes are designed to engage the public through striking imagery and direct conversations. Thousands of cubes have been formed in the world.

The Cube is returning to Kelowna this Saturday. Several similar events will be held across B.C. this week.

If you want to see the Cube in action, it'll run from 10:45 a.m. to 3 p.m. on June 22.
