PENTICTON - The Penticton Vees will pay tribute to Canada's vets Friday during their Remembrance Day game with the Vernon Vipers.

The Vees invited Nova Scotia rock band "The Trews" to perform their Remembrance Day song “Highway of Heroes” in addition to rendering “O Canada” to start the game.

“Highway of Heroes” was co-written by The Trews, inspired by the death of Captain Nicholas Goddard, a war vet from The Trews' hometown of Antigonish.

The Penticton Vees host the Vernon Vipers at 7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 11. Tickets are $13 for adults and $11 for seniors, students 13 to 18 are free.

Tickets can be purchased at the events centre box office, by phone at 1-877-763-2849, or  online at: www.valleyfirsttix.com

The Trews perform later in the evening at The Mule on Martin in Penticton, starting at 9 p.m., as part of their Time Capsule Tour.
