Vandals destroy holiday displays at downtown Vernon store

VERNON - Four people caused extensive damage to holiday displays, lighting and the roof of a downtown store earlier this week.

On Nov. 15, around 9 p.m., two males and two females, who all appear to be youths, were caught on store video surveillance damaging the holiday displays Vernon Teach and Learn on 30th Avenue had put up, as well as lighting at the front of the store and the roof.

One of the males had a distinctive striped bag slung across his chest, Const. Jocelyn Noseworthy says in a release. No other descriptions were given.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call Vernon-North Okanagan RCMP at 250-545-7171 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
