Charges laid against Surrey man in death of 87-year-old Vancouver woman

VANCOUVER - A charge of second-degree murder has been laid against a 23-year old Surrey, B.C., man in the death of an elderly woman in Vancouver.

Vancouver police say the prosecution service has approved the charge against Nicolas Wallace.

The body of 87-year-old Elizabeth Poulin was found in her apartment by a relative early on the morning of Nov. 24.

Investigators arrested a suspect two days later and the man was charged Tuesday morning.

Wallace remains in custody.
