DARIEN, Ill. - Authorities say they're investigating leads in the search for a gunman accused of wounding a person inside a suburban Chicago Wal-Mart store.
Darien police call the shooting an isolated incident. Authorities said Friday they're following leads after interviewing shoppers who witnessed Thursday's shooting.
Officers were dispatched to the Darien store around 5:30 p.m. for a call of shots fired in the store and found a person with a gunshot wound to the shoulder. The victim was taken to a hospital.
Witnesses told police a suspect fled the store before officers arrived. Cooper says officers cleared the store and didn't find any other victims or suspects.
In a statement Friday, Wal-Mart officials say they're providing resources to law enforcement to help the investigation.
Darien is about 25 miles from Chicago.
